My Wildflower Patch

What to do…

…simply scatter your seed-balls onto bare soil or compost* (avoid scattering on grass) in a garden bed or pot - leave at least 10cm between each ball.  The sun and rain will do the rest (you can water them if it is particularly dry).  You sees should start to germinate within 4-6 weeks from scattering.

Spring and Autumn are the best times to sow.  Some species may nor flower until their second year.

Your seed-balls should cover around half a square metre or 2-3 medium sized pots..

*Use Peat-Free compost suitable for seedlings.

What’s in my seed-balls?

There is a mixture of (some or all of) the following species that are great for pollinators, bees, butterflies and birds -

Birdsfoot Trefoil, Foxglove, Red Clover, Wild Marjoram, Vipers Bugloss, Cornflower, Corn Marigold, Forget-me-not, Yarrow, Loosestrife, Red Campion, Chamomile, Greater Knapweed, Tufted Vetch, Wild Carrot, Common Poppy
